The Steering Committee met on June 27 to review the work plan for Gateway 1’s final phase, which will begin in October of this year and extend through the end of 2008. A full meeting report is available here.
This fall, the first run of the computer-generated Corridor Travel Demand Model will be available for review, giving the Committee the opportunity to view traffic trouble spots as they will appear 20 years from now. This fall, the Committee will also record their opinions on which are the most threatened view-sheds along the Route 1 Corridor.
These discussions - plus an initial look at a range of possible new decision-making structures to implement the plan - are the last steps before the Consultant Team completes fulll details of the planning scenarios in early 2008. At this point, the Committee will begin recommending solutions to the identified land use and transportation issues on both a Corridor-wide and a sub-regional basis.
The next Steering Committee meeting will take place in October. Watch this site starting in September for posted meeting dates throughout the year. The public is encouraged to attend.
